Answer to my boredom

I have been here in the US for almost 2 months already. Being at home everyday and doing nothing makes me feel bored sometimes. I do go out with Justin every weekends because that is the time we can really spend time to each other. On weekdays, he spent his time all day at work and when he gets home his already tired but doing his best for me not to be bored. Like, going out for dinner, go to walmart and buy things I want and I like. Now, I have found the answer for my boredom everyday. It is where I spend my whole day before Justin gets home.

I spend my whole day watching my Filipino shows at PinoyChannel, I can watch my favorite shows by searching them. Either ABS - CBN or GMA shows. It helps me not to missed any new shows, hahaha.

This is a HUGE Insult to us as FILIPINOS

One of my friends in friendster posted in bulletin describing how dirty Filipinos to him. I was very shock and it made me mad in every sentences I have read. How on this earth have a person like Mr ART BELL to discriminate Filipinos. He have not seen or witnessed what Filipino culture are. He never realized that his fellow american are craving for what Filipino culture. We cant deny how dirty politics in the Philippines. But being a Filipino and what culture we have for so many years is what other nation does not have. No matter what this ART BELL says, I am still Proud of where I raised.

Here is his message

Subject: HATE LETTER

This is a very disturbing open E-mail letter to all Filipinos around
the world; specially here in North America !, from a man who has the power
to reach million of people. (he's a radio talk host)
Please read on..............
This is an open letter email by Art Bell , a radio talk show host in Nevada (more info in the email itself). Here is yet another person who has taken advantage of his power and priv ilege to use hateful words and racial stereotypes that breed further ignorance and intolerance in our society.
Art Bell is a talk radio host who has two shows that he broadcasts from his home in Nevada , that is rebroadcast by 400 stations across the country.
He's written 2 books. He lived in Okinawa , Japan for some years and had a radio program on the English station here. And, though it's hard to believe after reading the following letter from him, he actually has been to the Philippines (he's traveled fairly extensively around the world).

Filipinos.....*make me puke* ( Art Bell )
As we've all come to notice, in the past few decades, Filipinos have begun to infest the United States like some sort of disease. Their extensive involvement in the U.S. Armed Forces is proof of the trashy kind of qualities all Filipinos tend to exhibit on a regular basis. You can see this clearly by studying the attitudes and cultural Icons of most Filipino Americans.
Origins of Pinoys/Pinays:
Are they really Asian? Well we've come to accept the fact the Filipinos come from a part of the world known as South East Asia. But the term ' Asia ' is used in the wrong way. You may notice that contemporary Filipino Americans try very hard to associ ate themselves with groups that we know as Asian. I cannot count the number of times I have seen a ' Third World ' Filipino try to connect themselves to the Chinese or Japanese people. There is no connection and here's why. The Philippines is a Third World country. Nothing respectable has EVER been created by Filipino people during our entire human history. Young Filipino men in America have become obsessed with 'import racing'. They have an enormously perverted affection for Japanese cars. It's a common phenomenon. In their minds, these Filipinos somehow believe that they are Asian and that it somehow connects them to Japanese people and Japanese cars. They often take credit for the ingenuity of Japanese people and say how it's an 'Asian thing'. This term...'Asian thing' derived directly from African American slang 'blackthang'. 'It's a black thang.' 'It's an asian thang.' You can see the connection. It's even funnier that, in Japan , Filipinos are heavily discriminated against. The only filipinos that can live successfully in Japan are the filipino prostitutes. But that's the case for most Filipino people no matter where they live in the world. Now we've come down to this fact...and it is a fact.

Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as Asian. They have no architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way, asian. Thinking of the great countries in Asia such as Japan , Korea , and China there is no way you can possibly connect the Philippine Islands. This assault by filipino americans to connect themselves with the great peoples of North East Asia is foul and disgusting. Try visiting a young filipino's web site too. You'll see something called the 'Asian IRC Ring'. It has to do with the chatrooms. The most horrible thing about this is that these TRASHY people are trying to associate themselves with Asia again!! People in Asia don't act like, this at all. What we are seeing here is the natural Filipino in it's element with full access to technology and this is how they act! You will consistently see this behavior over and over again.
Another interesting thing is that these 'thirdworld' people also frequent RC chatrooms such as #chinese #japan and #asian. They must believe that they are some how related racially or culturally to North Asians. But it's completely WRONG! There might have been some distant contact With China and even less with Japan during World War II, but these people are actually more closely related to african americans and Mexican americans.
Do the parents of these young filipinos know what's going on? Would they accept this? I believe that they would and do. This is the natural 'Trash' element in filipinos manifesting itself. Nothing good has ever come from Philippines and I don't believe anything good ever will.

Recognizing your Roots (A Message to Filipinos)
To all filipino people:

Please recognize your ROOTS! You come from the Third World ! You country is a disgusting and filthy place. Most people there live in poverty! Your culture has MUCH MORE SPANISH influence than chinese, and absolutely no JAPANESE influence whatsoever. People in Japan and China , do not act like you. They do not constantly talk about sex and they have a MUCH HIGHER level of RESPECT for each other. There is NO WAY that you can connect yourself to Asia other than location. Your culture and technological advancement does not even come CLOSE to What Chinese, people have done in the past and what Japanese and Korean people are doing now! Everything you do is distinctly filipino. You cannot take credit for Japanese cars, video games, or Hentai! It's not an 'asian thing' it's, an 'American thing'. You have no concept of culture...no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy! Can you demonstrate how you use Confucianism or Taoism in you everyday life?? You can't. And you will NEVER be able to. I understand that you are trying to create an identity for yourselves as young people... but it is NOT related to Asia .
Your Identity is Filipino. That's all you are. Just Filipino. Think about what that means....

Sincerely,
Art

His 43rd Birthday

23rd of May was my fiance's birthday. I wanted to give him a simple but unique gift that he would love. The thing I decided to do is to make him a birthday cake. I never baked a cake ever since but I was willing to try and make it perfect just for him. So, I went to my neighbor Regina to ask some help. We never wasted time and started to bake the cake before the birthday boy come home.

As soon as the cake was finished, I hurriedly went home with the chocolate cake I made, the birthday hat and birthday balloons that Regina gave me. While preparing, I was shocked when I saw my fiance outside. What I did is, put the cake in the table and scattered the balloons around the cake and r
an to our room! haha

When he saw the cake and the balloons he ran to our room and gave me hugs and kisses while thanking me. He admitted he was surprised about that. Well, it was really a surprise thing for him! hahaha..He wont even believed that I made that for him. We celebrated his birthday together. I can see in his face that he was so happy, and so I am. It was the first time to be with him in his special day. It made me feel so good that day that I made him happy in his birthday.

Here are some picture we took in his birthday party.

This is the Chocolate cake I baked for my Birthday boy.

These are Justin's pictures with blowing, slicing and tasting his birthday cake.

Dysmenorrhea

Every month I dont like having my period for the reason that, I hate to suffer having dysmenorrhea for how many days. Either before or during my period. It makes me curious of what and why I am having dysmenorrhea.

I hope this information about dysmenorrhea will help not just me but to my fellow women having the same problem like mine.

What is it?

The term menstrual disorders refers to any of a number of conditions that are related to the menstrual cycle. Menstruation is the shedding of the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) each month, also referred to as the menstrual period. Menstrual periods usually last for five to seven days. Dysmenorrhea is the term used to describe painful menstrual periods. There are two types of dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea has no underlying cause. Secondary dysmenorrhea is caused by an underlying gynecological disorder.

Who gets it?

Primary dysmenorrhea affects more than 50 percent of all women who have a menstrual period. Approximately 5 to 15 percent of these women have severe pain that interferes with daily activities. Only about one-fourth of all women with dysmenorrhea have secondary dysmenorrhea, meaning there is an underlying cause of their symptoms. Dysmenorrhea usually begins during adolescence.

What causes it?

To understand dysmenorrhea, it's important to understand how the menstrual cycle works. Each month, the lining of the uterus, the endometrium, thickens to prepare for the egg that is released by the fallopian tubes. If the woman does not become pregnant during that cycle, then most of the endometrium is shed and bleeding occurs. The blood flows from the uterus, through the cervical canal, and out through the vagina. Primary dysmenorrhea occurs when the uterus contracts because the blood supply to the endometrium is reduced. This pain occurs only during a menstrual cycle where an egg is released. If the cervical canal is narrow, the pain may be worse as the endometrial tissue passes through the cervix. Pain can also be caused by a uterus that tilts backward instead of forward, low levels of physical activity, and emotional stress. Secondary dysmenorrhea can be caused by the growth of uterine tissue outside the uterus, called endometriosis; non-cancerous growths of muscle and fibrous tissue in the uterus, called fibroid tumors; the non-cancerous growth of the uterine lining in the muscular wall of the uterus, called adenomyosis; inflammation of the fallopian tubes; and the growth of scar tissue, or adhesions, between organs.

SpongeBob

Last Friday, I spent my time with Joe (my fiance's bro) cleaning the house, cooking dinner for that night, and buying groceries. We had a busy day and we never bought everything that we needed at home. Like the sponge!!!!! I always remind him to buy sponge because we only have 2 sponges left at home but it was already used for wiping. And I dont like it to use for washing dishes.

What Joe and I did, we just decided to go to Harvest Foods that going back to Albertson because we've been there twice that day already. Guess what?! He bought eight sponges!!! hahaha..that was fine! At least we had lot of sponges to use. Sponge for washing dishes, sponge for wiping the dirts at the kitchen, and sponge to use inside the bathroom.

The funny was, Joe thought sponges is too expensive back in the Philippines because I was really reminding him several times about it, that was why he bought eight sponges for me! hahaha

When we were about to sleep, he knocked on our room's door just to ask "Marfel, which sponge is for wiping? And which sponge is for washing dishes?" I thought he was just kidding around, so i replied "The yellow is for washing the dishes and the lavender is for wiping dirts." and he asked again, "What about the green one?" and I replied back "Just keep it for a while."

And the next morning, I woke up and saw the sponges in the kitchen!!! I was laughing out loud when I saw it and I ran to our room and told Justin about it. I decided to take a picture of what Joe did.

Here it is

APO loves to give service to fellowmen

WASHINGTON D.C. - Many fraternities have earned nasty reputations back home. But for some alumni of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) who’ve since settled here, new beginnings also mean rediscovering the spirit of brotherhood, camaraderie and selfless service.
The APO District of Columbia Alumni Association (APODCAA) is shipping 29 dialysis machines to two major hospitals in Mindanao – the Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro Provincial Hospitals.
The machines, worth about $14,000 apiece, were donated by the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring – Maryland’s second biggest medical facility – that has a large Filipino medical staff.
"The Holy Cross management was elated when we told them we were sending the machines to the Philippines," said Jun Cristobal, adding "aside from being expensive and still very usable, they were happy to know that the donation was being made in honor of Nenita Ramos."
Ramos was a Filipina dialysis technician in the hospital’s nephrology department who died last December.
The APODCAA members donated time and treasure to ship the machines back home. Santi Sipin, who’s supervising the group’s dialysis machine project, said the final tab could reach over $6,000 – most of it coming out of the pockets of members.
That’s a princely sum for most of them because nearly all are wage-earners with their own families to support. The amount could be bigger if they put a dollar value to the nearly 400 man-hours they’ve devoted to the project, much of it during weekends which are usually spent for recreation.
But Cristobal explained they’ve tried to turn the weekend activities into potluck family affairs.
Part of the freight cost is being shouldered by the provincial governments of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon, as well as Bukidnon Fil-Am associations here.
"We embarked on this project last Feb. 15," APODCAA president Ferdinand Gomez told ABS-CBN’s Balitang America. It wasn’t really part of their 2008 program but when they learned Holy Cross Hospital was upgrading its dialysis machines, the group convinced hospital executives to donate the old machines to Philippine hospitals.
"Dialysis treatment is really very expensive back home so we thought that in our own small way, we can help make treatment more affordable," Cristobal averred. In 2006, the average cost of a single dialysis session in the Philippines exceeded P3,000, according to Global Dialysis. A seriously ill patient may require from two to four treatments a week.

My Chicken Adobo!!!

Yesterday, I decided to meet my friend Jo. She is a filipina i met during my first 3 days here in Spokane Valley. She introduced me to her husband Tim and 3 year old son Carl. We went to Oriental Store close to Trent, until i decided to cook chicken adobo for my fiance Justin and to let Joe and the kids try the chicken adobo Justin been telling them about.

After we bought what we need for my first menu that I am going to cook we went straight to their house at Liberty Lake. I met Timothy's eldest sister Sincery (nice name!) which is a Registered Nurse in a Mission Hospital near at Valley Mall. I had fun while preparing for the ingredients that i will need and cutting the chicken into pieces.

As I started cooking for my chicken adobo, i was doubting it might not taste good as what i am expecting to be. To make it special and smells good i put pineapple chunks to it. Too bad i did not bring my digicam to take a picture of my first menu i ever cooked!!! haha

When the time of judgement came, I let Sincery and her kids try my chicken adobo. And guess what!?!!?!?! They loved it!!!!! hahahaha. So, now I am ready to bring my chicken adobo home for Justin, Joe and the kids.

When I got home, I hurriedly called the kids and Joe to let them try my adobo. I was very happy to see how they love the adobo i made for them! Especially Justin! It was really for him!

I thought at first, it was hard to cook simple menus. But, I was wrong. It wasn't difficult at all, especially when you have an inspiration. The chicken adobo I cooked is full of love!

what can you say about my blog?
